Hi, I'm Evan!
I am the owner & director of Watershed Building Company, a custom building company that specialises in high quality custom homes, extensions & renovations within the Perth metro area. To me, this is not just a job, but a passion that stems from a lifetime of experience in the construction industry.

Growing up in Perth, we lived in a large custom home which my parents built with my grandparents for us all to live in together. It was two houses grafted together by an excellent custom home builder of the time. Growing up with both my father & grandfather always working on various projects around our semi rural property, instilled in me a love for creating and building things with my hands.

My father worked in numerous areas of the residential construction industry, which allowed me to learn about different trades before deciding to leave school & commence a carpentry & joinery apprenticeship. During the course of my apprenticeship, I chose to suspend the apprenticeship & set up my first business as a contractor, much to the confusion of the education department which required students to either complete schooling or trade qualification. After some discussion, I was allowed to continue with my new business, being the first person to leave school and commence a business that they were aware of (I like to dream big)!

After several years of business ownership, I suffered a personal injury impacting my spine. I was no longer able to walk and required several months of intensive physio & rehabilitation. I refused to let that hold me back, from an initial diagnosis of "he will never walk again" to being able to regain the majority of my physical ability, I'm now an incomplete paraplegic. This journey taught me the importance of resilience, hard work, and perseverance in the face of adversity.

With a newfound determination, I set out to recommence my apprenticeship with Lion Mill Constructions, a general construction contractor, in the Perth Hills. I had the privilege of working on numerous projects, including unique custom homes, complex extensions, and renovations. While completing my apprenticeship, I commenced my study of a Diploma of Building & Construction to become a registered builder.

Throughout this rollercoaster of life, standing by my side, was my high school sweetheart, now wife, Casey. After our marriage, we chose to build a house with a project home builder in Perth, it was during this process that I realized my true calling - to establish a building company that puts relationships with clients, trade partners, and suppliers at the forefront of everything we do.

Completing my studies, I worked as a carpenter for a number of years before commencing Watershed Constructions with the impending arrival of our first child, Max. We have since undergone some major changes both professionally, rebranding to Watershed Building Company but more importantly, personally, we had our second & third kids, Lexi & Addie. With the expansion of our family, our Watershed team has also increased to better the services we provide.
